Thank you hubby... :*

Look what I got for my 144th day wedding anniversary! (Why 144th?, tu kena tanya hubby tersayang). No particular reason actually, just an excuse for the surprise! A cute one that is..
When we were at Carpohonewarehouse on Oxford St last weekend, I spent almost half hour menggodek the iphone on display and looked particularly interested with the functions of the phone and spend another couple of hours reading about the phone online when we got home, and.. the next thing I know today.. I got one from him!!!!
No wonder he's been acting quite weird after he got back from work yesterday. Usually he would help me up with preparing dinner, but last night.. dia kata I ada benda nak buat sikit, and was locked in the room.. It was only when I wanted to get something from the room that I saw a Tatty Teddy box and card on the bed. Even then, I thought he got me a teddy bear or mug or something, which I think was sweet enough.. It was only when I finished opening the layers of wrappers (in front of him, that is) that I know it was THE phone!! It was a pleasant surprise, really.. Almost put me to tears!
Hubby, you are so sweet... Me love you vewy much.. Muah.. muah..

The Olympic torch made its way through London yesterday, part of its journey around the world from ancient Greece to China, before the game starts sometime in August. The London leg of the relay sees the torch being carried through from Wembley Stadium to The o2 here in North Greenwich. And since The o2 is just about 10 minutes walk from our home, me and hubby decided to take an evening stroll and head to The o2 to watch the finishing line for this leg of the relay.
What should have been a fun and joyous day to celebrate the spirit of Olympics have been smeared with the demonstration by anti-China and pro-Tibetian protestors. I had a pair of pompoms and flag with me but sadly, I dare not cheer or wave, not with people right behind me chanting "Stop China, free Tibet". What's more 'not-fun' is, the torch bearer was surrounded by three 'layers' of policemen circling him, and running together with him. That much security! We couldn't get a clear view of the person carrying the torch.
But I couldn't blame them too. Along the 31miles run, there were few attempts to grab the torch, another attempt to put the flames off with a fire extinguisher. About 36 ppl were arrested for violent protesting. Hai, org sini opinionated terlebih2, sometimes I wonder whether demonstrating would make any difference? Like what my mum use to say "diorg ni pelepas angin dia je" (Kelantan slang la ni)
All in all, I must say the whole thing was quite a dissapointment. No fun.. No fun. But what's fun is I get to have an evening stroll with hubby around our cute lil' Greewich Millenium Village. Jalan2 with hubby is always fun fun.. And I get to take pictures of the area for the viewing pleasure of saudara Khairil Iqbal and all my friends..
- This post is especially dedicated to En Khairil Iqbal who has been 'skodeng'ing my housing area via wikimapia since last week! Now you get to put the names to the places.. -
nak pegi mana ye?
the 'footballer' in me.. yeah rite!
Tight.. tight.. security

Bukan lagi RAHSIA...
|
|
After a few failed 'attempts' to arrange for dinner at Rahsia Restaurant & Bar with my darling ex-collegues, we finally settled for a lunch date. Surprisingly, there was NOBODY else in the restaurant in the afternoon, apart from us, so we sort of have the place all for ourselves.
The place looks really nice at night, but sadly in the afternoon, it looked no more than a shabby old bungalow. The difference lighting could do to the ambience of a place.
Farah, my sort-of 'successor' (all the best to you! ) was kind enough to belanja us that afternoon. Thanks Farah.
Miss you guys to bits! Take care all.. Selamat melayan all the 'please reverts'..

Nur, you looked gorgeous, sorry couldn't stay long at Rizal's side and didn't even have time to speak to you.. Congratulations to both of you, wish you a happy life ahead.. and Rizal, you are one lucky guy!! -
p/s: We still havent done our Sentosa getaway..
My few firsts -

Miss Kaiseneva in Langkawi
|
|
Guliya, my ex-flatemate from Kazakhstan, was in Langkawi for a two weeks stress-free vacation. It was a well deserved break as somebody is very workaholic and never took a single leave in 2007! Crazita! The Ministry of Law in Kazakhstan is very lucky to have a dedicated staff like you!! (I later found out that Langkawi is a favourite vacation spot for Kazakhs, Russians and the likes i.e. Russian speaking countries. You can hear ppl speaking Russian at like almost all the places you go, they even have a USSR restaurant in Perdana Quay).
Anyways, I decided to fly off to Langkawi during one of the weekends and spend some time with her. Took the first flight to Langkawi on Saturday morning and the last flight back to KL on Sunday night.
So, effectively I spent two full days with Guliya. It was soo funny that it was her (a tourist/foreigner) greeting me at the airport, instead of me (a local and supposedly host) greeting her. The moment we saw each other we were giggling like school girls.. partly not believing we are actually meeting each other again.. From the airport, we rented a car and start hitting the roads.
We managed to squeeze in a lot of activities within that two days, among others
Day One;
- Cable Car
- Window shop at the duty free shops
- Kilim Geoforest Park for a cruise along Kilim River, eagle feeding, Bat Cave and fish farm (recommended! the eagle feeding experience was so cool. Imagine about 20 eagles flying around you.. fishing the food (read: chicken skin) from the river.. how cool is that?)
- Kuah - Dataran Lang
- Shopping - Pantai Chenang.. i forgot to bring my pareo and flip flops.. excuses..
- Swimming at the hotel.. (dah petang jalan sakan baru sampai hotel.. hahaha)
- Dinner at Bon Ton (nice ambiance, but food wise, nothi ng to shout about )
- Lepak at Chenang
Day Two
- Pulau Payar Marine Park. We took the whole day package from 8am-6pm which include snorkelling and scuba diving and of course packed lunch. It was Guliya's first snorkelling and diving experience.
- rush back from Kuah to Andaman. mandi, solat, pack.. and then from Andaman to Pantai Tengah (one tip of the island to the other) for dinner at Unkaizen Japanese Restaurant.. bawak kereta macam F1 racer cos we (or shall I say, I, hehe) want to catch the sunset dinner . I swear Guliya mesti serik with my driving! .. but it was worth it, as the setting i.e. restaurant by the slope of a hill, overlooking the beach, and the sunset, was just so calming and breathtakingly beautiful. For a while we've forgotten we had that crazy drive and just enjoying the dinner.
- after dinner, another crazy drive to send Guliya back to Andaman (cos it was dark and creepy for her to take a cab all alone from the airport back to Andaman, if she were to send me off) and then rush back to the airport to catch my flight back to KL..
(Note : that was the craziest driving experience I've had. Kena marah ngan hubby cos tak think of my own safety and the fact that I was driving so fast on winding roads.. alone!.. sorry yang, won't happen again.. actually, I was a bit scared with my driving too.. agak gile la... hehe.. lesson learnt, kalau terasa tak sempat, don't even bother.. )
We had a great 2 days together.. reminds us of the crazy things we've done together in Durham. Hope we'll meet again someday... maybe, in London sometime soon perhaps?
